{"id":105105,"date":"2021-06-18T14:32:24","date_gmt":"2021-06-18T19:32:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jbs.org\/?page_id=105105"},"modified":"2021-06-18T15:29:09","modified_gmt":"2021-06-18T20:29:09","slug":"defund-public-schools","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jbswebdev.com\/children\/defund-public-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Defund Public Schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&nbsp;is&nbsp;clear that public schools in the United States are beyond repair.&nbsp;Americanists must&nbsp;take action to prevent the next generations from fully succumbing to Marxist thinking that will ultimately destroy the United States.<\/p><p>However, if we are to be effective, we must strike at the root of the problem.&nbsp;Some conservatives have suggested running for school board positions or passing legislation to ban sex ed or critical race theory.&nbsp;But these&nbsp;are not sufficient answers. School board members don\u2019t have power to make even modest reforms while state legislation merely strikes at certain aspects of public-school indoctrination while ignoring the root.<\/p><p>The solution to an irreparably corrupted and leftist-captured institution \u2014 in addition to the <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/what-is-the-alternative-as-public-schools-degenerate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">essential<\/a> step of <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/christians-urged-to-pull-children-from-public-schools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">withdrawing<\/a> our children from it&nbsp;\u2014 is ending all government support.<\/p><p>Public schools receive&nbsp;a lot of&nbsp;taxpayer&nbsp;funding, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manhattan-institute.org\/issues-2020-us-public-school-spending-teachers-pay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more money<\/a> is spent per student in the U.S. than in nearly every other country.&nbsp;The reason there is so much money in education is because government confiscates the funding for its system through property, sales, and other kinds of taxes at the local, county, state, and federal levels.<\/p><p>But why spend so much money if the end result is&nbsp;dumbed-down&nbsp;young people&nbsp;who are also&nbsp;indoctrinated to hate America? And&nbsp;why spend so much money when an increasing number of parents are already <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/public-school-exodus-does-get-woke-go-broke-apply-to-government-schools-too\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pulling their children out<\/a> of the schools, resulting in a <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/mass-exodus-from-public-schools-accelerates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mass exodus<\/a>, and instead choosing other options like <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/new-data-shows-homeschooling-explosion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">homeschooling<\/a>?<\/p><p>Rather than throw money at a system that is rotten to its core, state legislators must defund the public schools. Not only would such an action suffocate the system, but the savings&nbsp;\u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/worldpopulationreview.com\/state-rankings\/per-pupil-spending-by-state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nearly $15,000<\/a> is spent per student in the U.S., on average&nbsp;\u2014 would&nbsp;enable state governments to greatly reduce taxes and in turn&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/an-argument-for-privatizing-public-schools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">give parents<\/a>&nbsp;more money&nbsp;to find higher-quality alternatives for their children.<\/p><p>Inform your state legislators of the dire straits of U.S. public education and tell them to stop throwing money at an irreparable
