Hoosier landowners are under attack by global elites who seek to implement the United Nations’ totalitarian Agenda 2030 plan for humanity. This attack comes in the form of carbon-capture pipelines, which directly threaten private property in pursuit of a radical environmentalist agenda. State legislators must oppose carbon-capture in Indiana, including by repealing HB 1209 (of 2022).
In 2022, the General Assembly enacted House Bill No. 1209 (HB 1209), which allows companies to engage in carbon-sequestration — a major step toward the construction of carbon-capture pipelines.
As The New American reports:
[HB 1209] leaves the landowner holding the bag. At the very end of the bill, the wording is ambiguous at best. It identifies [that] upon the certificate of completion, the state will assume ownership and responsibility of the storage site — the injection point, the class 6 well. Then the state will assume regulatory control. And then it says, the very alarming next words are that the owner (which was established in point one as the state) is absolved of all responsibility for the well. So the state assumes the ownership and then absolves itself in the same law of all responsibility. The only person left holding the bag is the landowner.
Furthermore, with HB 1209’s passage, corporations are looking at constructing carbon-capture pipelines in Indiana. As TNA reports:
We have multiple counties that are being looked at by several different companies, ranging from Gary, Indiana, all the way down to Terre Haute, Indiana. We have companies such as Valero, BP, Tenaska, and Wabash Valley Resources looking to install carbon-capture pipelines.
Seismic testing is occurring in White County currently. They have finished Jasper County, Benton County, and are looking at doing other seismic testing. They are beginning the land-acquisition process.
Despite having the ability to use eminent domain to seize private property, carbon-capture pipelines are entirely private and will not directly benefit the public. Furthermore, some of the companies that would profit from them are foreign-based and have troubled histories.
Additionally, carbon-capture pipelines are closely connected to the UN’s Agenda 2030 “sustainable development” scheme to eliminate private property and totally reshape society in the name of fighting “climate change.” The pipelines also are associated with serious safety concerns, and have been shown to be a poor investment.
The Indiana General Assembly must take strong action against carbon-capture pipelines. Contact your state legislators, and urge them to fully repeal HB 1209 (of 2022) and to enact strong legislation banning eminent domain for carbon-capture projects.
Although we provide a way to easily email legislators, we know from long experience that it takes a lot more interaction with your legislators to get your point across than that provided by emails alone.
That's why we provide an easy way not only to email them, but to contact them by phone, tweet, and even video message them.
